Let me bring you a principle that I stand by quite firmly: “You have to take care of yourself in order for you to take good care of your children”. I think all the mothers out there have heard that they should incorporate me-time in their day or even in their week. But what does this actually mean and how do you DO that?
Being a mother is not a piece of cake. You’re taking care of little humans. Humans with their personalities, their needs, and their feelings. And those apples of your eyes need to be guided to what’s good for them, in any aspect. That’s quite a responsibility and this takes a lot of effort and time. Don’t get me wrong on this, it’s so much fun to stand by their sides, cheering them on and correcting them wherever they need it.
But no unhappy coach ever had a happy team
I’ve noticed that if I’m feeling good in my skin, I’m a better mother to my daughters. Feeling good in your skin doesn’t mean that you’re having a good day because bad days do happen. It means that you’re feeling satisfied with YOUR needs. I’m really trying to make these periods last, and I’ve noticed that what helps me, are habits that I’ve incorporated in my life as well as taking efforts that benefit me in the long run. I hope these tips will help you as well!
